- Codex — A community of neo-pro writers, offering critiques and networking.
- Ralan.com — Market information for where to send stories. A must-have for any aspiring writer.
- NaNoWriMo — 30 days. 50,000 words. GO.
- OWW — The Online Writing Workshop. Post stories, get critiques from other writers. I’ve found it really valuable. I’ve heard Critters is good too, but I have no personal experience.
- Submitting to the Black Hole — For those times when you wonder if your manuscript is lost, stolen, or gallivanting about in a parallel universe.
- Nightshade — Discussion for pro and semi-pro writers about the sf/f field.
- Clarion West — Incredible workshop for developing sf/f writing skills. I loved it. See also Clarion East and Clarion South.
- Broad Universe — Network for promoting feminist writing and sf/f by women writers.
