The difference between guilt and responsibility
Time Wise addresses the question of guilt versus responsibility in this short video. He’s answering the question, “As a white male, should I feel guilty for the sins of my fathers?”
I thought his answer was wonderful. The short version: No, but you should feel angry and do something about how unfair our society is.
It’s only about two minutes long, and it’s worth hearing.
Arisia
Surprise, I’m going to Arisia!
I’m going so I can promote FOGcon and attend the business meeting where they discuss our grant proposal. (Arisia offers grants, and we’ve applied for one to help start FOGcon.)
Who will I see there?
The next few days
Today: Write 4k words plus attend useful panels at SMOFcon plus spend 2.5 hours on transit to get home. Maybe sleep sometime.
Tomorrow: Write like a maniac to finish the novel. Estimated 5k-8k. Drink champagne. Cackle wildly.
Tuesday: Lock door. See no one. Sleep all day and drool on pillow.
Wednesday: Clean ALL the things!
Thursday through sometime in 2024: Attack the 234,487 tasks I didn’t do in November.
