Write-a-Thon: Day 23
July 9th, 2007What a weird experience. I had Africa and Hearing today. I had a cool idea. I know how most of the story goes, and I liked the idea.
I absolutely couldn’t write it. I stared at a blank screen for hours. Then I got grumpy, went for a walk, and stared at the blank screen for even longer. It was crazy.
Then I took a bath. And a different idea came to me–completely unrelated to this one. So I sat down to write it, and it came out fine. 700 words about alien abduction and mistaken identity.
Very strange. I guess that was the story that wanted to be written today.
and maybe some other day the other story will want to be written!
Or maybe it’ll call me collect, from a dark intersection in Albuquerque, begging for me to come pick it up.
