Back from Spain!

April 4th, 2007

It was completely awesome. Best trip of my life. I’ll post details when I’m less jetlagged–hopefully by the end of the week.

Meanwhile, here’s three things I learned in Spain.

1. Alcohol is cheaper than water or soda.
2. The Spanish don’t believe in vegetables.
3. A semi-vegetarian eating the Spanish diet requires daily laxatives. On a related note, ham makes poop smell just like a zoo.

    1. Ain’t it great.

    2. No, they don’t, at least not anymore, and it has health officials concerned. Spaniards have abandoned the Mediterranian diet and now eat too much meat. Within living memory, people couldn’t afford much meat at all, but now they seem to be trying to make up for lost time. And they’re getting fat and their health is suffering. As I said, Spanish health officials are concerned.

    3. Yep. I eat a modified Spanish diet myself.

Heh. I’m very grateful to a Madrid pharmacist who spoke English and understood the problem. :)
